It's not like they played bad—they had several chances. It appeared the effort was there. They simply couldn't get the ball in the net.
It seemed as though the scoring slump had left them last Saturday when the blue-clad Sounders netted two vs LA. But tonight's goose egg leaves them two points behind the Galaxy, and third in the West table.
Even though they were without star midfielder Ljungberg, it's not that Seattle were without it's chances. Jaqua had a couple close-range opportunities that sailed off target and Montero missed a penalty in the 43'. The PK miss pretty much summed up the evening. Montero also received a yellow for heading the ball out of Reis' hands. What was he thinking? And since this is his 5th caution, he'll miss Sunday's match against Houston.
Fan favorite LeToux came on for Jaqua in the 65' minute, but failed to produce much up front. While Nyassi came on a few minutes later and did create some chances up the right flank. I'd like to see Sigi give him more time. He always seems to give the opposition trouble with his pace.
I'd also like to make an observation (just my opinion) that our players need to be taking shots a lot more liberally. In several instances the ball was passed one too many times hoping for the perfect chance, but it never came. There was apparent frustration in the crowd.
Finally, the Revs deserve a lot of credit. They only had a few scoring chances and converted on one, which proved to be all they needed. It looked like they wanted the win just a bit more tonight.
What do you think of tonight's performance? Would you like to see more of Sanna?

That said, I strongly encourage the young women of Athens to reconsider their wardrobe choices when they feel that urge to go out in public bedecked in leggings and Uggs. I beg you to throw on a pair of proper pants. I assure you, no one will find you less attractive or think you are any less sexy if you attend your classes with adequately concealed body parts. Please take advantage of the lovely stores of downtown Athens and buy both something that will cover your butt and footwear that serves a purpose other than taking up too much space in your closet.
